Village of Boffalora

Agazzano

In addition to the restoration of the Castle, Carlo Ponzini has designed
a series of buildings arranged to improve the village attractiveness,
integrating new elements into the existing complex. The preliminary
study has considered a total areaof about 41,000 square meters, on
a gentle hill slope overlooking the castle. Three building blocks have
been designed with a squared central courtyard, including higher
elements on the east and west side, thus resuming the planimetric
form and the archetype of the castle. The three buildings
have different functions, such as a hotel, residences and a touristhotel
residence. Each courtyard has been treated in different ways
to characterize each building. The project includes the space surrounding
the castle so as to create a unique ensemble between thenew and the old.
