Sheltered accommodation

Caratta

Designing this protected residence,Carlo Ponzini has conceived
a two-floor, L-shaped architectural complex. This shape
has allowed the community areas, such as the dining hall, the multipurpose
rooms and those for psychomotor activities, to be placed
near the main entrance, while single and double private rooms
have been positioned in the other wing. All the rooms are designed
for people with disabilities and overlook the garden surrounding
the building. The façades are treated with facing bricks at the
bottom and decorated in the upper part. There are large balconies
on the first floor, while the roof is a classical pitched roof, typical
of Emilia region, and the relationship between the building and the
surrounding land is really strong.
