Restoration of Castello
della Boffalora

Agazzano

When Carlo Ponzini was asked to
design its restoration, the castle
as a whole was in a poor state of
repair. Studio Ponzini had to deal
with a structural work carried
out in an emergency by the previous
owner. There were serious,
widespread failures of the cellar
floor, which required immediate
intervention to prevent the structural
collapse of the entire wing
of the castle. Thus the construction
of an independent structure
was carried out, able to support
part of the loads conveyed to the
ground by masonry. The intervention
also included the foundation,
the floors and the roof.
